Muppet song of the day: Gilbert & Sullivan style

One of the things I’ve been admiring, as I’ve searched through so many Muppet related clips the last few days, is the way Henson & Co. used music.  There’s the totally awesome original songs from the movies and show, but there’s also the creative way they used already existing songs, so this week I’ll bringing you a favorite a day.

This clip features two of my favorite characters, Rowlf the dog and Sam the eagle, singing a little bit of Gilbert & Sullivan.  As always, the hilarious chemistry between Jim Henson and Frank Oz shines through.

Hee, that song always reminds me of the episode of Frasier with David Ogden Stiers.
